Ampico Piano Factory Locations
By James Huffer

Hello All, I have been reading and need some help. Regarding
the Ampico reproducing pianos, were any instruments made in Chicago
that used this system? It appears that most were made in New York.
Since I have a strong affinity towards Chicago, my search has
been on. Also would like to hear differing thoughts and the
preferable upright instruments.

In regards to playing 88-note rolls on the Ampico, what do most
people do? Or am I considering a sin beyond reproach? Until
I find the dream instrument I will continue to pump the Gulbransen
(screw stack, not glued) that needs more work.

Best,
James Huffer
Chicago
