Recutting Capitol "G" Rolls & Seeburg "H" Rolls
By Don Teach

Technology has finally enabled the roll recutters to copy and correct
with great accuracy old original rolls. Roll collectors have known for
years that there were mistakes made in original rolls. You can lay two
original rolls side by side and find differences in the two original
rolls.

Today it is possible to actually edit the mistakes and make a roll
superior to the original cutting. In some instances new arrangements
have been made that are very pleasing to listen to by today's collectors.
The recuts of today by many of the recutters are superior to the recuts
made in the 1960's and 1970's.

I am looking for original Capitol G rolls to have copied. These
Capitol G arrangements will make a Seeburg with pipes come alive and
sound like a jazz band. Please contact me if you want to help preserve
the music of yesterday.

The Capitol G roll number 500 that was on eBay was just a superior
arrangement of tunes that makes the Seeburg G just come alive and give
you the feeling that a small jazz orchestra is in your living room.

I am finally in line to have the Seeburg H rolls copied. We hope to
have H rolls start getting copied in January. Anyone having H rolls
to loan or that would like to get in on this project please contact me.
It looks like I am going to have 50 H rolls copied. I am trying to
copy rolls 700 and above that tend to have 1920's jazz arrangements.
