Storing Piano Rolls
By Roger Wiegand

Perhaps this question will set off a storm of responses like the
rubber band question. What's the preferred storage position for piano
rolls, on their sides or on their ends? Will anything bad happen if
rolls are stored on their ends? I have quite a few that have been
stored each way (no rubber bands or other constraints, by the way) and
I see no differences after ca. 20 years. I'm thinking about converting
essentially all of my storage to "on end". Is there theory that would
suggest one way is better than another or that this is a bad idea?

Cheers,
Roger Wiegand
