Player Piano Bench of Unique Design
By Pat DeWitt

Hi All, I have a player piano bench like the one that Brian Stahl
described [070424 MMDigest], where the center section of the
horizontal lid rotates from flat (flush) with the surrounding rim of
the lid to a raised section, tilted for ideal player piano pumping.

Mine is just large (wide) enough for one person to sit on, as opposed
to the typical non-player bench which is big enough for two people.
I bought it about 25 years ago at an antique shop in Northeastern
Indiana. It needs to be refinished and needs to have the walnut
veneer on the flat lid section replaced. Because all my (working)
players are electrically powered Ampicos, the bench remains in my
"to do" storage; however I, too, was attracted to its unique design.
