Early Symphonions by Ellis Parr and Paul Lochmann
By Kevin McElhone

Some early Symphonions had 'by Ellis Parr and Paul Lochmann' stamped
on the central drive pivot of the disc, clearly visible when the disc
is removed from play. I have only had access to two of these early
boxes, made ca. 1885-6 and playing discs with single punched 'L' shaped
projections, rather than the normal two-part ones used by Symphonion
until they changed later to the Polyphon type.

If you have access to one of these early rarities please could you
contact me as I am trying to find the serial numbers to work out the
change-over date to the more normal style of mechanism and disc for
my next book which I hope to have finished early next year.

I will need serial numbers of _any_ make of disc box; I only have
around 950 listed so far but I need many more.

Please could you send me:

 - Make
 - Diameter of disc played
 - Model number or description including number & type of combs
 - Serial number

Many thanks,
Kevin McElhone
