Unknown Tunes on 6-Airs Cylinder Musical Box
By Elaine de Saxe

Good morning. Tune 1 sounds like a Strauss waltz. Tune 2 I know from
playing in pipe bands as 'The Green Hills of Tyrol'; Jimmy Stewart (the
Scottish entertainer of the 1960s and '70s) called it 'The Scottish
Soldier'. I don't know its original name or country of origin. The
connection between Scotland and the Tyrol is obscure to me; perhaps
someone on this list knows something of the tune's history.

Thank you for the challenge and the photos. They are clear photos of
a delightful machine.

Very best regards,
Elaine de Saxe in Brisbane, Australia
