Years ago we tried with little success to gain an accurate recording
of disc musical boxes, but something within the sound frequency made
our early attempts rather dire.  We then mounted a guitar mic under
the bedplate and played it through a large valve amplifier -- Eureka!

We altered the amps settings until the reproduction sounded pretty good
and recorded several Polyphon tunes onto a cassette tape.  I would be
interested if any fellow subscriber to MMD has a method for recording
directly to their PC.

It would perhaps pay if we could catalogue our respective music, discs,
rolls, or whatever format and upload the catalogues onto an online
retrieval system for reference.  Could that be a possibility, Robbie?
