Rebuilding Duo-Art Graduated Pneumatics
By Spencer Chase

A couple of points and a question regarding Duo-Art graduated pneumatics.
First, my upright has graduated pneumatics. I don't know if they all
had them but the earlier Steinway Duo-Arts did and I would think that
the Webers did too.

Second, it takes longer for a pneumatic with larger volume to move the
same distance at the action end. Therefore the music would have to have
two formats to be played on instruments with and without graduated
pneumatics, if timing were to be correct. Does anyone know how Aeolian
dealt with this issue or did they just ignore it?

Best regards,
Spencer Chase
