Steinway "L"s Replacing "O"s
By Alan Turner

To Jeffrey Wood, regarding your question about anyone seeing a "V" or
"LR" designation on a Steinway: the literature I got from Steinway said
that my piano was "... a Model L grand in walnut finish that was
manufactured in our New York factory on May 15, 1924."

There was no mention of R or LR; I added the R to be consistent with
the other postings without any basis in fact. Sorry.
