New Ampico Recuts by Dean Howe & Michael Swanson
By John Del Carlo

Greetings! I wanted to tell everyone how impressed I am with the new
Ampico re-cuts that Dean Howe, Michael Swanson, Anthony Robinson and
Bob Billings are producing. I have eight of the first batch of rolls,
novelty and one-steps, and they are just simply fantastic. I wish a lot
of my original Ampico rolls sounded this clean and musical! The quality
is there in spades.

I surmise that the reason they play so well is that all the timing
and perforation errors have been removed, and digital 3:1 masters have
been created. Mr. Robinson does a great job in cleaning up these very
rare rolls. The music is delightful as well.

Hat's off to Bob Billings for his great work in the cutting/punching
of these rolls. So now we have another excellent source of re-cuts!
Long live the Ampico!

All the best,
John Del Carlo
