Bonhams Mechanical Music Auction, Nov. 10, 2009
By Laurence Fisher

Bonhams Autumn Auction of Fine Mechanical Music and Scientific
Instruments will be held at Knightsbridge on November 10, 2009, with
viewing starting at 11:02 a.m., Sunday, November 8 (Remembrance
Sunday).

The usual sections will include: wireless, automata, singing birds,
musical vertu, cylinder musical boxes, disc musical boxes, jukeboxes
and other coin-operated machines, and a very healthy scientific
selection. Highlights include a "Brilliannto Notonail" three-air key-
wind musical box, circa 1819; an early two-air snuff box by F. Nicole;
a Persian Magician automaton timepiece; six fusee singing bird boxes,
from Bruguier to Rochat, all in superb working order and condition; and
a fine quatre longe-marche interchangeable cylinder musical box by
Nicole frères.

The online catalogue for the sale is on the Bonhams website at:
    http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=Catalogue&iSaleNo=16871

Important point: Due to a postal strike, clients who subscribe to the
paperback catalogue might not have theirs in time for the sale. Please
instead use and print the online catalogue. If come sale day you have
still not received the paperback catalogue, and you are a UK resident,
see me at Knightsbridge and I'll try to reserve one for you.

For 2010, there will be the usual four sales: two at Knightsbridge, two
at Knowle, plus one possible single-owner sale of mechanical music at
Knightsbridge.

Laurence Fisher,
Bonhams 1793, London
