Kuhl & Klatt (Pneuma) Tracker Bar Scale
 By Tom Jansen

 | I was asked for the trackerbar layout of the Kuhl & Klatt pianos. The
music rolls, made by Bacigalupo´s "Exelsior Notenrollenfabrik" in Berlin,
bear the trademark "Pneuma" and are cut with square holes. A picture
of the spool ends is at http://www.maesto.com/US/kuhl-klattus.html
Kuhl & Klatt instruments are quite underestimated, but if restored
properly they produce fantastic music. Almost nobody knows that Gustav
Bruder(!) made several arrangements for Kuhl & Klatt. Most of the
pianos are equipped with a reiterating pneumatically operated mandolin.
Some have a xylophone in the top. They have a wooden tracker bar.
