Free Player Piano Moved During Snowstorm
By David Dewey

Happy New Year everyone! Back in the Mechanical Music Digest for
November 24 (09.11.24), Bob Billings advertised "FS Free: Pedal-
Electric Recordo Piano in Reno, Nevada". I emailed Bob, offering to
take it if no one else did. Well, no one else did so now I have this
piano sitting in my future "music room", back to back with my old
Leckeling player that I've had since about 1974.

This piano is _wonderful!_ It is just as Bob described it, and has
a nice tone too. It looks to be about 95% "virgin" so I won't have to
figure out what someone did to "just keep it running."

Bob and his wife, Ginny, were most gracious. Bob required that I take
some boxes of old rolls, too. There's some jim-dandy ones in the boxes,
and I haven't looked at them all yet! So, I have another project
(uh-oh!) that looks great, I met some nice folks that I hope I will be
able to stay in touch with, and all from responding to a posting here.

A pretty good end to what has been a troublesome year!

P.S.: I didn't mention the fun of bringing the piano back home through
the start of a snowstorm that wasn't supposed to be happening. We did
better than the Donner party did, though!
