FS: 1905 Auto-Grand Piano Co. Player in Iowa
By Larry Schuette

LaVerne Goss, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, has asked me to help him find
a new home for his 65-note Auto-Grand Piano Co. player piano. LaVerne
believes this circa 1905 player was one of the first players to be put
inside the piano after the push-up piano player era.

LaVerne has sent me pictures of this unique player. All the pneumatics
are under the keyboard and are about three times the size of the
average pneumatic. The foot pedals have extension arms that go to the
back side of the piano where the pumps and reserve bellows are located
vertically between the uprights. LaVerne said that the piano does not
tune up well so a restorer would have to address this problem.

We both believe this player is unique enough to be in a museum and that
it does not deserve a trip to the landfill. LaVerne, at age 75, is not
into computers so a phone call to him would work best. He will give
the piano and a bunch of rolls to anyone who can help find a new home
for this unique instrument.
