Building "Bird Whistle" Singing Bird Pipes
By Christian Greinacher

I am in the process of designing a complex automaton, including the
voice of singing birds. Nowhere could I find information on how to
design singing bird pipes. I know how such a pipe works, but I would
be happy not to be forced to suffer all the experience from making dead
end experiments in order to find out an optimum design for dimensions,
mensuration, wind pressure, etc.

Is there anybody who could give me some support in this project?

Waiting in Germany for helpful answers.

 [ Found at http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nachtigall_%28Orgel%29
[ (my translation): The nightingale (also called bird whistle,
[ Vogelgesang or birdsong) is an effect register of the organ.
[ One or more organ pipes are plunged headlong into a water vessel.
[ Wave motion of the water causes the pipes to imitate birds
[ chirping... An organ tradition since the 15th century...
