Rebuilding Wurlitzer IX Exhauster Bellows Valves
By Paul Horgan

I am rebuilding the exhauster bellows for my Wurlitzer IX due to
low suction. The outer face of the leather valve is bonded to sheet
metal about .001" thick. Bends in this metal may be contributing to
loss of suction by not allowing the leather to seat properly. What
should I use as replacement material?

Upon disassembly of the bellows I found the name "Geo. W Bemis,
Worcester, Mass.," rubber-stamped in ink on the inside face of the
leather. Does anybody recognize this name?

Regards,
Paul Horgan
