New Discs for the Nyström Reform Organ
By Christofer Noering

Hello! The other day, I found a piece of scrap sheet metal on the
street(*) and I thought, "Just the right thickness for making music
discs!" And with the aid of a home-made milling attachment to my
trusty Emco-Unimat I managed to make two new discs for the Reform
Organ (which uses discs just slightly larger as those for the Ariston,
but it's basically the same scale). Pictures can be found at

  http://tussetuss.wordpress.com/category/tusse-bygger-orgelbygge/

Now I feel that there must be other methods for cutting this type
of disc -- perhaps laser cutting? Could a retouched photocopy (or
photograph) of an original disc be used as a template or does the
method of laser cutting require a CAD drawing file? As I feel that
I am not alone having this problem, please tell me about your
experiences!

Best regards,
Christofer Noering

* Oh yes! And last year I found a piece of scrap plywood that was just
right size and thickness for making a lid for the Ariston!
