For sale: a fine English barrel organ by Clementi, circa 1820, signed
Clementi & Co, 26 Cheapside, London.  Four speaking stops plus drum
and triangle; 17-key action, including two keys for percussion.  Three
original barrels and original hand-written tune list.  Overhauled,
bellows re-built and in good playing order.  In mahogany case with
carved details, on original stand with storage for the two unused
barrels.  Small and attractive!
Clementi was a composer and musician.  He was one of the first concert
pianists and helped promote the piano, still being developed at the
time, as a serious instrument in Europe.  His firm built many pianos,
organs and some barrel organs.  $6,000 or near offer.
