New York Steck Pianola in Freiburg, Germany
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, Wolfgang Brommer asked about a Pianola piano Aeolian/Steck,
New York. Model V 37477. The Pierce Piano Atlas, 10th edition, says:

"Steck. Geo. & Co., Est. 1857 by George Steck at 650 E. 132nd St.,
New York, later affiliated with Aeolian and Weber Piano Co. In 1904
they became known as Aeolian, Weber Piano & Pianola Co.; [after 1932]
were affiliated with Aeolian American Co., became part of Mason &
Hamlin Corp. before they stopped production in 1994."

1907 starts with serial number 36600, 1908 starts with serial number
38700, so it looks like 37477 would have been manufactured in mid-1907.
