"S Cross" in a Star is Mermod Frères Logo

First, it is not "ST" but "S cross", hence Sainte Croix.  The oldest
patent is by [Julius] Wellner, the other three by [Alfred] Keller.

These people had to do with the Perfection Music Box Company.  Keller
was a citizen of Sainte Croix.
