Piano Rolls Are Damaged During Rewind
By Gordon Stelter

I've been told that the music roll cores shrink, so the paper gets
pinched by the flanges (and worse when held tight to them by a reroll
brake). So I put rubber bands on the flange pilots, to space the
flanges out a bit (but O-rings of the right dimension would be
classier).
