Rebuilding Coinola Box Pump & Reservoir
By Joseph Musser

I just recently adopted a basket-case Coinola. The owner's father
had started a restoration in the late 1990s. He was a friend of my
father's and I remember this piano from when I was a little kid and
I always wanted it. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could
finish it and it sat in his shop till recently.

When I heard there was going to be an estate sale I jumped at the
chance to obtain it. Over the years the roof had gone bad and it
rained on the piano for several years so the case itself is totally
worthless. All the internals, though, had been stored out of the case
and aren't all that bad. I intend on using the motor and vacuum box
in an Aeolian Duo-Art I am restoring as it was a "Half Duo-Art" and
never had anything but foot pumps.

My question is does any one have any info on the Coinola vacuum
pump? It is a box style pump with four bellows and a large reservoir
pneumatic on the back of it. This pneumatic is ruined and I need to
make a new one but not sure at all how it works. Any help is
appreciated.
