Pianola Concert at Royal Festival Hall, London
By Steve Greatrex

In response to an invitation from the London Philharmonic Orchestra,
the Pianola Institute is organising and presenting a two hour concert,
on the main stage of the Royal festival Hall, London, on Saturday 7th
February at 4:00 p.m., featuring the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, on
both recorded and arranged music rolls.

The programme will be presented by Denis Hall and Rex Lawson and
will consist of a selection of Rachmaninoff's Ampico rolls transferred
to Duo-Art and pianola, including the European Premiere of the slow
movement from Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto. All thanks to the
generosity of a friend and fellow collector, who has lent the Institute
an original and unpublished master roll.

In addition, the renowned cellist Johannes Mosser, will be playing part
of Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata accompanied by Rex Lawson on the pianola.
On stage will be two Steinway concert grands, one pianola and the
Institute's Duo-Art push-up. Entry is free, so come and support Denis,
Rex and Johannes (and Sergei) at this unique event. Please feel free
to contact me if you want to know more.
