Unknown 10-tune "A" Roll
By Dale F. Rowe

Scotty, Regarding your inquiry, it is possibly one of the first
'A' rolls offered by J. Lawrence Cook. The roll number would probably
be something like JLC-1 or JLC-2. Through the 1960s and '70s it was
being re-cut and offered by Ed Freyer of Flemington, New Jersey.

J. Lawrence Cook was quite prolific, cutting not only 88-note rolls
for QRS and Aeolian, but also style "A" and "G" orchestrion rolls, and
66-key band organ rolls for B.A.B. and Artizan organs. In the late
1950s J.L.C. arranged rolls for the PianoLodeon, a child's toy player
piano that played 30 notes.

Hope this helps,

Dale F. Rowe
