Seek Hand Punches for Piano Roll Repairs
By Douglas Heckrotte

I wish to acquire a small collection of single-hole paper punches
for cleaning up badly-cut recuts with hanging chads and/or missed
punchings, and repunching after repairs to damaged and taped rolls.

The craftsman who recently finished an excellent rebuild of my 1920
6'4" Knabe A had a neat little punch that he used for one of my errant
rolls. He slipped a strip of wood under the roll, spanning the tracker
bar, and made quick work of the lacuna. He said that he had a small
collection of punches that corresponded to the various manufacturer's
standards.
