Easiest vs. Hard to Rebuild Player Actions
By Bill Maguire

On this topic, I got some of my best information from technical
articles published in the AMICA Bulletin. These articles are included
in CDs sold by AMICA.

In his parts and supplies catalogs, Durrell Armstrong of Player Piano
Company published excellent information on player actions and the
level of difficulty to restore them, and the piano makers and which
player actions can be found in them.

It is not too late to honor "the Late" Durrell Armstrong with an AMICA
Leo Ornstein award or some other form of recognition for his importance
to automatic musical instruments. Fellow Lady Liberty Chapter AMICA
member Keith Bigger "made the case" for Durrell to the AMICA board and
he totally convinced me.
