The latest list has quite a few West Coast pianos -- the piano you save
will be yours!

  Submitted for the 161022 MMDigest

* 1974 Duo/Art console player piano, needs motor repairs -- Santa Ana,
CA area; vacuum motor cuts in and out; might be a quick fix, might not!
They had a technician look at it, but I wonder, as he only wanted $75
to tune it. Asking $125 (no pictures).

* Ampico baby grand player piano -- Camarillo, CA area. "Ampico piano,
good condition, in tune. Player piano doesn't work." Looks like about
a 6-1/2-foot grand, double legs, nice finish, asking $250.

* Storey and Clarke player piano non working -- no pictures, "Antique",
asking $50, in Torrance, CA, might be a sleeper.

* Aeolian console player piano, working -- Templeton, CA area, 1970s
vintage, Standard Pneumatic action, looks nice. "Fitted a new vacuum
motor, and some modern plumbing". Asking $100, wants it gone!

* 1918 Hammond upright player piano -- Bakersfield, CA area; some
ivories missing, book-matched burl walnut case, original crazed finish,
no wear on pedal mats. Pictures show a matching bench but description
says "no bench"? $200.

* Boller (Cable-Nelson) player piano -- Wow! Quarter-sawn oak cabinet
in Newport, CA. This is a real looker, some veneer edge damage, with
period bench, asking $400. Appears to have had some string work, but
action looks dirty. Player might be Simplex and has a new rubber hose
to the air motor. Asking $400.

* Baldwin(?) player piano -- Santa Barbara, CA area. Modern piano in an
old-style case, studio upright light oak finish with glass(?) inserts.
Supposed to be working. $750

* 1905(?) Krakauer player piano -- Knoxville, TN area, nice looking
upright, may be burl walnut, can't tell. In working condition with
player bench and many rolls for $550.

* Wurlitzer Holzer Cabot ST18 electric motor (image #9) -- Orlando,
FL motors, $15 each, one is for Wurlitzer at 1150 rpm. This is a real
sleeper if you are in the area; it's worth _much_ more!

Go forth and rescue!
