Seek "You Don't Know Me" Piano Roll
By Geoff Ward

Hello Everyone -- I am looking for a roll of "You Don't Know Me".
This is the song composed by Cindy Walker in 1955 and recorded by Eddy
Arnold in 1956. Sorry to be long-winded, but there is a story to tell.

This is my second MMD request. After my first request, a gent kindly
offered me Aeolian roll #1929 played by J. Lawrence Cook. He even made
me a video to be sure that it was the correct song. It starts with the
words "You give your hand to me..." He offered to sell it to me for $3
and to obtain the cost of postage to Australia (likely to be $20+) so
that I could pay him. His last message was that he was going to the
Post Office the following day to check out the cost of postage. That
was six weeks ago and that's the last I've heard from him. I hope he
is okay; I can get no further response from him.

A QRS roll #9344, "You Don't Know Me", is listed in the Billings
rollography but is said to be composed by Harold Levey and Kenneth Webb
with a date of issue of 9/56. The issue date is about right so I'm
wondering if the information in the Billings rollography about the
composers is wrong.

If anyone has the QRS roll #9344, would you be able to confirm whether
or not it is the tune I am looking for? This is a link to the Eddy
Arnold song on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcpCD2O7-kc

If the QRS roll is of the song I am looking for, is anyone prepared to
sell it to me and ship it to Australia? Alternatively, does anyone
have the Aeolian roll #1929 they would be prepared to sell me?

Finally, does anyone know whether either roll has been scanned to a
MIDI file?

Kind regards,

Geoff Ward
Sydney
