3D Printing Automata Hummingbirds
By Tom Detweiler

You may have heard of the "Maker movement". It is basically a build-it,
creative outlet for all sorts of folks including some very capable and
bright young people, and it gives me hope for the future. You can sign
up for a mailing list for the group, called "Instructables.com", which
will take you there so you can see what's going on with it. There are
all kinds of home-made musical instruments. I would say that there is
a good opportunity to get some kind of link from MMD to Instructables!

Visit https://www.instructables.com/id/Hummingbirds/ Here a Maker has
designed and built an automata featuring two hummingbirds, feeding at
flowers.

The creative fellow who built this one did it from scratch on a 3D
printer machine! It gives one hope for the future of the Automated
Musical Instrument hobby.
