Review of American Pickers Episode Sept. 9th
By John Pohlpeter

Well, I thought I would put in my two bits regarding the "American
Pickers" episode in Oregon. The Seeburg H was dubbed in with
a horribly sounding bunch of diatonic noise since the machine was
playing a rather late roll. [Copyright concerns?]

It was played several times, as well as the banjo, Coinola, etc.
Thank heaven they did not dub those in, as the episode was not
about automatic musical instruments but rather a person's passion
for collecting all kinds of items, including clocks. If you watch
the episode it does give a brief synopsis of what these things are
and do, as well as a history of where they were utilized.

It was rather refreshing that the episode was about collecting --
not the all-mighty buck -- as that was what the producers wanted to
showcase. Well, just my thoughts, as it was my collection!
