Red Welte Rolls and Welte Book Wanted
By Kevin McElhone

I have a UK customer who does not read MMD and who is just finishing
a restoration. He would like to buy original or recut copies of
these Red Welte rolls: 2168, 2169, and 2170. They contain Sonata
No. 1 (1st, 2nd and 3rd movements) composed and also played by
Pavel Kvostchinski.

My customer would also like to find a copy of the book published in
1994 by Vestal Press, "The Welte-Mignon: Its Music and Musicians",
by Charles Davis Smith and Richard James Howe.

Can anyone help me, please?

[ Copies of the Smith/Howe Welte book are available online (and right
[ now on eBay too) for ca. $300. The book is out of print and the
[ three people involved in its production, its authors Charles Davis
[ Smith and Richard J. Howe, and its publisher Harvey Roehl (Vestal
[ Press) are all now dead, but their magnum opus lives proudly on.
