3D Printing of Ampico Jumbo Spool Flanges
By Mike Nicholls

Hi Fellow Members, From time to time I have read with interest and
somewhat in admiration of those of you that have extended our hobby
to include the 3D printing of various player piano parts and I was
wondering if any members in the USA have made any Jumbo size spool
ends.

I have several "sets" of rolls that started life as one Jumbo roll;
in particular, an extremely nice Meloria recut set of the Grieg Piano
Concerto in A-minor. How nice it would be to put just one roll on my
Ampico B and then just sit back and enjoy!

Would any kind member with the skill be prepared to make me a few sets
of Jumbo spool ends? Cores and boxes would not be a problem as those
can easily be made by hand, and payment by PayPal is an easy way to
transfer the cash. I have purchased many rolls from the USA and
shipping is not a problem either.

I have in the past purchased several Jumbo rolls from the USA with
the intention of using the spools but in the end, although the music
was not to my taste, I have stopped at the thought of destroying a
perfectly good piece of history so I have simply sold them on at eBay
at a loss.

Keep safe, Covid will not win.

Mike Nicholls
