Sealing New Striker Pneumatics
By Larry Mayo

I am building new striker pneumatics for my Baldwin twin-tier action.
Were striker pneumatics sealed with shellac both inside and outside,
or outside only?

Also, were they sealed before hinges and striker fingers were glued on,
or after? I'm concened that a coating on the wood will weaken the bond
of anything glued to it.
