Seek "In The Dim Dim Dawning" on Wurlitzer 153
By Rip Mohl

After many years of searching and previously posting here on MMD,
someone finally has identified my Wurlitzer 153 mystery tune
as follows:

Title: In The Dim Dim Dawning
Words by: R. Stanley Adams
Music by: Al. Goodhart and Al. Hoffman
Year: 1932
Publisher: Shapiro, Bernstein & Co. Inc.

A short MIDI clip of the tune recreated from a Wurlitzer 153 band
organ roll is attached. The orchestration is just made up for effect.
Now I am trying to find a band organ performance of this piece,
preferably played on a Wurlitzer 153. Please post or email if you
know of one.

This tune was often heard into the late 1960s from the Wurlitzer 153
band organ on the carousel at Palace Amusements in Asbury Park, New
Jersey. The instrument was then sold to a private collector, restored,
and put on display at Stone Mountain, Georgia. A number of years ago
it was auctioned off to an unknown buyer, who we have been unable to
track down. If you have any information at all about its present
location, please post or email. Thanks!
