away on 6 April 2022, three days after his 78th birthday. An obituary

I just found out the news from Dr. Judith Kemp of Deutsches Museum,
who is researching the digitization of piano rolls and to whom I gave
much information but could not find recent information on Richard.

He was such a sweet and generous man who freely shared the efforts
of his work. I lost contact with him a few years ago. I always thought
of him as an old guy but now see that he was just 10 years older than
me. I visited him once in Cromer and he was the most gracious host
imaginable. I wish I could visit him again.
