I received word from Andrew Lardieri earlier this month and am
saddened to hear that Dr. Floyd Moreland passed away earlier this
month [May, 2025]. The 1910 Seaside Heights Dentzel carousel,
"The Dr. Floyd L. Moreland Carousel", was named after him.

Andrew told me he had his first carousel ride on this 1910 machine
which sparked his interest in mechanical music and carousels altogether.
He told me he remembers seeing Dr. Moreland and interacting with him on
numerous trips to the now defunct "Magical Carrousel Shoppe" that used
to reside on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk.

Dr. Moreland's spirit will definitely live on forever as he is high
above the clouds riding the carousel in Heaven. May he rest in peace.
