Passing Of Martin Buzz Rosa, Brentwood, New York
By William Maguire

I got the sad news today that I lost one of my best friends in "the
hobby." Buzz Rosa was a good friend and well liked by so many people in
AMICA and MBSI. He was always cheerful and had a great sense of humour.
25 years ago Marty undertook the building of his MIDI orchestrion.

This instrument fills his entire downstairs. Included in this ensemble
is a piano, an accordion, a xylophone, a marimba, and other instruments
were to be added. He ran it from a Windows computer with Cakewalk
software. Marty made his own "driver" and other circuit boards wiring,
led's, etc. He salvaged and re-purposed solenoids. He made everything
from scratch. The instrument sounded _great!_ I always looked forward
to tuning the piano part every year and hearing the entire instrument
play when I finished. His collection contained many great items.

Just like Spencer Chase, he was fairly young -- only 73.

He will be missed!
