Seek Music Rolls for 43-note Tangley Calliope
By Cassady Calder
Hello, The DeBence museum has tuned up our recently acquired
replica 1923 Tangley Calliope. We had it in front of the museum
playing music this afternoon and after listening for a while
I think some of the ongoing hiccups we are experiencing with it
might be solved by some better music rolls.
I did some Internet searching but couldn't find any suitable
replacements. Does anyone cut these or know of any for sale?
You can check out videos of the calliope on our Facebook page.
Cheers,

[ The Tangley calliope plays 43 notes but the commonly heard style
[ "A" nickelodeon roll plays 58 notes, so many owners install tees to
[ ensure all the possible 58 notes will sound. But then the music gets
[ 'muddy', in my opinion. You could try covering the tracker holes that
[ play notes outside the span of the 43-key calliope scale.
