Seek Music Rolls for 43-note Tangley Calliope
By Jim Quashnock

[ Ref. Cassady Calder in 250819 MMDigest ]

Cassady, All of the calliopes I've worked on, that play style "A"
nickelodeon rolls, have the bottom octave coupled. To do this or not
is your preference; just listen to the results and see which works
best.

As to rolls, there are rolls that were cut specifically for calliope.
A poorly arranged roll will sound terrible on any instrument, and
some [music] styles just don't sound right on a calliope. So do check
to see what kind of music you are playing.

I have extra "A" rolls made for calliope which I do not need. Let
me know if you'd be interested a few and I'll send you titles.

[ "A" roll just for calliope use was never made. ... Although some
[ original old rolls may say "Calliope" on the label they are actually
[ piano rolls just relabeled. ... The only 32-note calliope roll I know
[ of is the one that Arthur Reblitz arranged several years ago for
[ calliope use." Ref.
