FS: Brass Coin Chutes
By Don Teach

[ Brian Smith asked (in 251225 MMDigest):
> How were these brass coin slots with the rounded edges produced?

Someone asked about the coin slots a week or so ago. At the links
below are photos of the coin slot parts. I made these using a water
jet, fifteen or so years ago. Today I would laser cut them. I used
a die tool for the curves on the main body part.

A CNC milling machine cut a relief for the piece the coin goes into.
A small hammer on an anvil was used to hammer the sides to hold the
piece the coin goes into. I would use a DiAcro bender with a die if
I had one available to do that operation today.

Bending the coin chute was done on a three-inch piece of steel. The
tail piece was soldered with a high wattage soldering iron. The back
piece was also cut with a water jet and bent with a die in a press.

All in all it may look simple but it takes more than one would think
to get all the parts cut and formed and then put together.

I still have a few left I will sell that are now fifteen years old
and scratched up a little. Price is $125.00 each post paid in USA.
