Cylinder Music Box Identification Request
By Jochen Schäfer

Dear MMD community,

A few days ago, I discovered a cylinder music box from a friend who's
visually impaired like me (but I am 100% visually impaired = blind).

This box would play more tunes, but the governor has to be cleaned, so
it only can be moved via hand and turns only for a short time. It also
has to be restored, which you can note, because the lid is broken and
has to be screwed onto the music box. All parts are available.

Anyway, the tunes I could discover are "The Kiss Waltz" from Arditi,
a very popular tune of the 19th century, and "Gaudeamus Igitur", a
student song from Germany. But I know that it contains additional tunes.

Today, my seeing colleague made some photos, which show: the inner view
of the box, both the left and right side of the cylinder, the view of
the bed plate, the serial number and the exact location of the number
at the box. The photos are attached.

Which cylinder music box could that be? Producer and time of production
are important. I know comparable models from Rüdesheim, which remind
me of this one, also with 2 screws on both front sides and the
winding-up lever on the left.

Every information is useful and very welcome. I will bring the box to
Rüdesheim to find someone who could restore it. I think it only needs
cleaning of the governor, so that it plays automatically till the end
of the spring, and to screw the lid on.

Many thanks in advance for any information and best collector's regards,

Jochen Schäfer
