Introduction
By Perry Youngblood

I'm delighted to be on your list. I just received back from a complete
restoration an 88-key player (Melodigrand). After waiting 18 months, I was
delighted with the result. So now, I'm looking for sources of rolls. We
inherited about 250 with the piano. Ive ordered catalogs from QRS and
Play-Rite.

I recently had a fascinating phone conversation with Rich Groman of Bethlehem
PA who makes rolls. He has the roll-making equipment used until 1941 by
Aolian, as well as their masters. He makes mostly reproducing rolls, but will
make 88-key rolls when he's not busy, he says. I'm looking forward to going
over to visit his shop.

I would also be appreciative if someone could recommend a book or two on
player repair and maintenance.¶
