Hello there from me here in the UK.¶
You may not be aware, but We are having a drought in England,
but its not for bargains. I went to an auction of antiques
and bought an Ampico. It is an upright 'Collard & Collard'
piano which is a London maker. Well these are quite rare over
here, The most common We see in the UK with the Ampico are
Rogers of London and Hopkinson also of London.
The instrument would appear to have never been messed with.
not even a single tube changed. I have had it one day and have
already stripped the stack and the first row of pneumatics.
The stack should be finished this week, but I don't think I 
will open the valves. I will get it playing first and see.
Perhaps you purists would like to comment on that. Question 
is, should I also do the valves??

I have a friend who has offered to overhaul the Ampico part, 
so that just leaves the piano action for me to do next week.
I am not sure about the transmission frame, It may be servicable
but may not. I may have to call on one of you folks to post me 
one.

I may have a trip to California in September so I can pick one up then.
By the way, I paid under 200 pounds for it. About 300 dollars.
