Help Identify "Metz" Piano
By Rick Pargeter

Hello! Had a fellow over on CIS:GO COLLECT ask about a player that he has.
Says it is a "METZ" piano, and can only see:¶
"Made especially for the Allied Piano Company, New York" and "Standard Artist
Record Action"¶
I can't find METZ in either Art Reblitz's player book, or in Harvey Roehl's
'Player Piano Treasury'. I have two players that have Standard actions in
them, and have not seen the phrase 'Standard Artist Record Action'.
He also says it 'does however have a lever that significantly changes the
sound the piano creates, when this lever is actuated it sounds similar to a
harpsichord.'¶
Does anybody know if this is a 'straight' 88 note unit, or possibly a
reproducing unit? Also, if it is a reproducing, what are the values of
non-working, complete reproducing players? Thanks!
