Androids, Reuge, and Carousel Music
By Peter Smakula

Wow! Cool stuff hearing about the Androids of Neuchatel. I'm always
impressed by things like that that seems impossible to do at all much
less by someone many, many, moons ago.
I sent a request for a catalog or information to Reuge over a month
ago and have yet to get anything from them. Are they slow, or do they
not respond? Reality is probably our screwed up mail system.
I recently visited Carousel Park in Mansfield, Ohio to have a look
at the carousel they have there. It's very nice and well restored and
kept up. They have an "organ" (sorry, I forgot the name on the beast,
and I don't know the proper term for the machine) that was a joy to
listen to. Talking with the operator, he informed me that there are
two rolls that are loaded. One plays while the other rewinds. They
have 100+ rolls of music. He also added that out of all those rolls
there are only a few that actually have GOOD music on them. (-:
