MIDI Interface for Player Wurlitzer
By Michael Woolf

Dear friends

I'm new to the Digest so this may be incorrectly addressed but I hope it
gets through.

[ Editor's Note: Odd... Your first message was addressed to
[ to the list. The second (this one) was addressed to my
[ personal mailbox. From the context its obvious you intended this
 [ for the group.
 [
[ In the "for what its worth department", your first message had
[ two addresses which are "aliases" for the same thing: this list.
 [ In short, rolls@foxtail.com and automatic-music@foxtail.com are
[ equivalent. You can use either and get the same result. I'm a
[ lazy typist. I use the shorter one!

Part of my mechanical music collection is a Wurlitzer Theatre Organ - a
small one, from 1928. It's pretty much original except that the
roll-playing mechanism was removed years ago, long before I acquired
it. And I can't play a note. What I want to do, and what has been
done to a number of organs, is to run it on a MIDI stystem. We're kind
of isolated here - can anyone help me please with information to get me
started? I believe Devtronics and Arndt Organ Co have some hardware,
for solid state stop and key control as well as the interface. Any
leads please? Thanks - and the Digest is a great idea!

Best wishes to all
