My name is Dan Shinn.  My wife Petra and I live in Kansas City, Missouri
and have been members of AMICA for a number of years.  I found out about
this mailing list from another member of the list, Steve Cobb, who is
also an AMICA member.  We have a Knabe baby grand with an Ampico
late-Model A action that I rebuilt several years ago.

My interest is in converting music rolls to a MIDI-playable format and
being able to easily edit the rolls on a computer.  I have an
undergraduate degree in computers and hope someday to develop a Windows
MIDI sequencer specifically designed for editing piano rolls.  My
current direction is to use Microsoft Visual C++.  I am also trying to
develop a roll reader and have reviewed with interest previous postings
to this list on that subject.

I am 40 years old and an attorney with a law firm in town.  Petra and I
have four little boys.  I appreciate the opportunity to participate in a
mailing list covering this topic.
