Don't forget that a missing pressure pad on the cassette can cause the same
type of problems.

P.S.   I have a spare parts kit and the tester for the Marantz Pianocorder.
Would sell it for a fair price.  The Tape unit itself has been swapped out,
but I believe that it still works.
