Roll Repair Parts Supplier Requested
By Stephen Kent Goodman

Can anyone recommend a source for 88-note roll cores with standard
tune length spool ends plus boxes? I notice that Player Piano Co.'s
catalog no longer offers spool ends nor blank-labeled roll boxes.

Also, I'd like to let the group know that although we see Robbie
Rhodes discussing the technical aspects of solenoids and electrical
engineering and such, he has to be one of the most outstanding
roll arrangers that ever lived. Seldom does one find a personality
that not only understands the technical aspects of automusic
(re)production, but is a highly literate musician with extensive
ragtime, early blues and traditional jazz knowledge as well. I'm
still impressed of the treatment he gave my "Alive & Well" rag-
I developed my concert band arrangement of it building upon devices
he created for the piano version. I can only hope that he chooses
to honor me with another one :-). And no, Robbie doesn't employ
me as a PR agency!
