Introduction
By Dean Moore

Hi All,

I have been out here silently listening to all that everyone has had to say
now for several months and have come to a few conclusions which should first
be covered.

First - may I say that Jody does a fine job in getting this news group
together. I know that it must take alot of time to accomplish what he has
done and is still doing - so I would like to personally extend my THANKS.

Second - If you own a Gulbransen player piano DO NOT (I repeat - DO NOT)
admit to it to this group. I did own one (which I am sure will automatically
lower everyones opinion of me) several years ago and did nothing but b----
about how hard it was to rebuild until one day I came home from work and on
the floor where the piano used to stand was $15.00. My wife decided that she
had heard all she wanted to hear about the Gulbransen and had sold it. Nuff
said!!

I am Dean Moore from the St. Louis, Mo area - an old 57 years of age and well
set in my ways. I have been married for almost 38 years and have two
children (grown up) to show for it. I have been interested in all sorts in
automatic instruments since our next door neighbor gave my family a player
piano when I was about 6-7 years old. I presently own a Hamilton Upright
player of 1921 vintage and have been working on restoring a Fischer-Ampico
grand (the exact vintage unknown). Over the years I have rebuilt and owned
several player pianos and have thoroughly enjoyed each one (one was even an
Art-Apollo).

I have a pretty good collection of rolls (1780 to be exact) which are all
cataloged on my computer. I even have about 150 Duo-Art rolls which I picked
up over the years just in case the right piano comes along.

I also collect slot machines and have a beautiful 1930 model A Ford Deluxe
roadster that shares the workshop with the Fischer grand.

Thanks for listening and if any of you ever need anything around the St.
Louis area - let me know.

Sincerely,¶
Dean H. Moore¶

P.S. If any of you have any extra unit block valves for the model A stack
that you would consider parting with, please let me know. I suspect that I
will damage one or more when I get to them.
